Alex Levy was born in Berlin, Germany in 1936. He escaped in his mother's arms on Kristallnacht and spent the War years in hiding under an assumed identity in a Catholic orphanage. This blog chronicles that experience and what happened next.-

Alex Levy was my first English teacher ( 7th grade) at JHS 52 in Manhattan. He was the only teacher that year who actually inspired me and I actually found the class pretty difficult. I am sure he does not even remember me at all ( this was 1968). I remember Mr. Levy then teaching at GW when I went there, but never had the pleasure of having him again as a teacher. He is just one of those people you remember after many years. Best of luck to him…
